Introduction

I added a new feature; A S L I D E S H O W! all scalemodels in one overview!

For more details of the car/bike/truck models; "come back HOME", and make your choice in right-column

The Porsche 911GT2 building in progress This site is not mend to give "HOWTO's " about automotive (scale) modeling, but rather to give photo-impressions of a nice and relaxing (most of the time ;-) )hobby , and I hope to inspire other people to have fun with this hobby.

I (re)started this hobby a few years ago when I realised, that I needed a relaxing hobby. 100% accuracy and 100% perfection (to scale) comes after having fun and relaxation.

But there is a page with materials and tools !

And a page with a building-project gone wrong !

And...... there is a new page with kits in stock!

Some details (brands, technics)

The Yamaha YZR-M1,building in progress The models are from; Italeri, Hasegawa, Tamiya, Revell,Fujimi(nearly all scale 1:24). All models are airbrushed (with a Badger 150) with Acrylic paint from Tamiya and/or Enamels from Humbrol, Revell, Tamiya. When airbrushing I use Tamiya-maskingtape and/or Maskol(Humbrol) to mask parts.

When airbrushing i use colormix(Revell) or white spirit to thin enamelpaints (about 1 part thinner and 1 part paint). With acrylics(Tamiya) i use isopropanol or X20A(tamiya) or sometimes distilled-water to thin the paint.(about 0.5 part thinner and 1 part paint)

One caution when airbrushing, see to it that there is good ventilation; the fumes of the solvents (and paints) can be harmful and intoxicating. The same can be said about some brands of glue.

The (glossy-finish) was realized with sometimes Johnson Future Wax, or sometimes polishing with the Novus Polishing set with as last step the finish with Tamiya model wax.

Photography

Canon Powershot S3 ISPhoto's were made with Canon's A80 Powershot (4 Megapixels)on a tripod.

The "A80" has a "remote-access" feature which allows you to connect your PC with the camera, and see the picture before you are going to take the photo. This feature makes it possible (and you can take time for it) to adjust; composition, aperature, exposure and more variables (this all looking in the "camera-window" on your PC).

Canon Powershot A80

For me the successor of the A80 Powershot will be; Canon's Powershot 3S IS (6 Megapixel)(see photo above), a camera with a better Macro (and again with Canon's "remote-access" feature).

In the near future a page concerning Macro-Photography(with Car/Bike Scale-Models) is planned

I used IrvanView and sometimes Adobe's Photoshop for a little photo-editing.

It is there, the Photography-page !with a daylight and an artificial-light section
