The building of the DAF XF95
And now for something completely different; a Dutch DAF-truck (a REVELL kit). I have to say i miss here the engine details with this kit
Some background......" When DAF exhibited their 95XF in 1997 they set new standards for the competition. Thanks to new technology the 12.6 liter six-cylinder in-line engine delivers all of 530 bhp - that is the highest performance per cubic capacity of any European inline lorry engine. To withstand the high heat generated by the engine and guarantee its durability, the engine block is made of a high-strength and high resistance material that is otherwise found only in a few top of the range cars. As the DAF 95XF has a larger radiator and improved engine cooling fan compared to its predecessors, it achieves a high average speed - an advantage that is not' to be underestimated in the face of ever tighter deadlines. Its handling also is compelling. Even at low speeds its tractive power is impressive. The braking of this lorry on steep gradients stands comparison with anything in Europe. In addition to ample performance the DAF also offers a magnificent cab that is specially designed to suit the driver. The internal height of the Space Cab, the most popular driver's cab, is about 1.90 meters. The XF95 also contains a range of practical cubby-holes and storage compartments with a volume of 170 liters arranged round the driver's seat. Another positive feature is the simple, uncomplicated steering wheel and seat adjustment. The neat, tidily arranged and therefore comfortable cab of the DAF 95XF Space Cab provides a reliable lorry that offers above all a driver-orientated and well designed workspace. "........
