The building of the Fairlady

This is a nice Hasegawa kit, no inner engine-detail, a so called curbside model

Some background......" In November 1969, the open body Fairlady underwent a bold metamorphosis into the long-nosed, short-decked, closed body Fairlady Z coupe. For domestic Japanese sales, the Z was fitted with two types of engine, the S20 and the L20. In America, two types enjoyed great popularity under the Datsun Sports brand as the 240Z and 260Z, fitted with 2.4 and 2.6-liter straight six engines, respectively. 1971 240Z Datsun Sports 240Z models originally built for export were marketed domestically in Japan as the 240Z series. The first three-number model featuring the L24 straight six engine, it had specs of 150ps max output and 21.0kgm of max torque to give the model a top speed of 205 km/h. The Fairlady Z has a glowing legacy in motor sports history. For the 1971 19th Safari Rally, Nissan switched to three new Fairlady Z models from the Bluebird 510 it had used previously. Successfully holding back the European competition, the 240Z was able to grab both first and second place in the race finish, and the triple crown of overall, class and team. This spectacular showing was instrumental in spreading the word in Europe about the Fairlady Z. Over the next nine years, the early Fairlady Z went on to enjoy a record-setting production run of some 550,000 units, and has long been a favorite of sports car fans around the world. Nice contrast matt black and shiny red. It seems that I made a little error in the black painting-scheme(after main headlights)
