This is a very nice Tamiya kit, with inner engine-detail, and good overall detailing
Some background......" Although widely known as a luxury car makerMercedes-Benz has also produced an array of history-making motor sports cars. One of the most memorable Is the 300 SLR, which won the Italian Mille Miglia endurance race, and followed this with additional wins to decisively dominate the 1955 racing season. The SLR legend made a comeback in 2003, when the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Produced in England as a joint venture with McLaren Cars, the F1-related automaker, the SLR possessed distinctively elongated proportions made possible by its front-mounted engine, a rarity among super sports cars. The front fender slits and exhausts harkened back to the design of the 300 SLR, while the front end was based on contemporary P1 machines. The swing wing doors mirror the design of the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. The monocoque body utilized the same lightweight and durable carbon fiber as F1 cars, while the rear under-panel featured a diffuser to create down force. Power was provided by a 5.5L V8 supercharger engine, capable of monstrous power output of 626 hp. Super-quick stopping power was enabled by the massive carbon ceramic brake discs and pop-up rear spoiler. Capable of doing 0 to 100 in 3.8 seconds, and exhibiting top speed over 330km/h, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ranks alongside such supercars as the Enzo Ferrari and Porsche Carrera GT. Easy to drive and packed with superior safety features, the SLR Is truly a unique and innovative super sports car. "........
